Free.fr mail (Zimbra)
Free uses a new webmail system called Zimbra, it gradually replaces their classic webmail, so you can switch from one to another in two or three clicks on the login page, and wait a few hours. These features include a calendar, a task tab; its simplicity of use and its ergonomics are very appreciated and allow a quick start. It has the advantage of allowing a larger storage capacity than the old system, expandable between 1 GB and 10 GB instead of 100 MB available previously.
The message management is intuitive and offers a preview of the one selected in a frame at the bottom of the list of these, you will find your different folders of messages on the left and can easily create new ones. An address book offers you to display the list of your contacts in two different forms: In list or in the form of cards with an additional function that gives the possibility to associate a picture of your contact! The calendar, in turn, offers five display modes: by month, week, day, work week or program, with different options for adding appointments or reminder.
The number of account creation is unlimited and accessible anywhere in the world with access to the internet and preferably Google Chrome or Firefox browsers. This webmail also has functions of blocking outgoing smtp traffic and antispam which avoids having too many spam that invade your mailbox.
Another advantage at free: Mail filtering. You have the possibility to set up filters to automatically destroy some mails and thus not receive junk mail. You can add filters yourself and define the conditions: Expression it contains, sender, recipient, subject and then choose what you want to do: Delete them permanently or place them in a folder. You can also temporarily disable a filter.
The disadvantage is that if you are not subscribed at Free you will have to make a paper mail to create an email address which will make the opening procedure longer. The size of the messages is limited to 5 MB per sending and 10 MB in reception which can be binding for the user, especially for sending files or photos. In addition, users complain about a few server crashes.
